October 2014 Club Card - Kind Koala

Isn't this koala cute?!  For some reason, I kept calling him a panda when we were making this card at my October stamp club meetings.  This is another quick and easy card to make - and I used another stamp from my pile of sets that have not been inked up yet!  I told my club members I was NOT going to buy another stamp set until all the ones I already bought have been used.

We used the Smokey Slate Blendabilities to color the panda koala.  I am loving those markers!

October 2014 Club Card - Work of Art

This was the first card we made at my October stamp club meetings.   I really must come up with a new name for my monthly meetings because anyone is welcome and you do not need to make a monthly commitment.  Just RSVP when you are able to attend a class and pay a $7 materials fee or place a minimum $15 order.  But if you do decide to make a monthly commitment - you have the opportunity to earn lots of FREE Stampin' Up! merchandise, including exclusive hostess stamp sets.

CONTACT ME for more details.

We used the stamp set, "Work of Art" to make this Clean and Simple card.  I received this stamp set for FREE at the Stampin' Up! catalog launch last spring!  This is the first time I inked it up!  I was unsure what to do with this set, so I headed to Pinterest to get some ideas.

Below are a few other ways to use this set:

(Less than 2 months until Christmas!)

I am known for giving my stampers homework and this month they are supposed to make a project using something that they bought from me but haven't opened up yet!  There was no complaining about this month's assignment!  They all had stamp sets or supplies that haven't been touched.  So I can hardly wait for November's meetings to see what they make.

I will be posting September's homework cards soon, so come back and check them out soon!

October Stamp Club Project

Everyone who came to one of my October stamp club meetings made one of these cute boxes!  They are all made with the new Curvy Keepsakes Box Thinlits Die from Stampin' Up!  These boxes are so quick and easy to make.  We had an interesting discussion about whether the bird was an owl or a turkey!  I CASED all these projects from Pinterest.  Visit MY PINTEREST BOARD to see over 50 cute projects you can make with this die.   The jack o' lantern was made with vellum and when you put an electric tea light inside - it glows!  Really cute!  The others are big enough to hold several pieces of wrapped candy.  Below are close up views of each box.

September's Club Card #2

This is the second card we made at my September stamp club meetings.  We used the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die to cut three pieces - one each from Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral card stock.  We started with a Calypso Coral card base, layered on a piece of Baked Brown Sugar (4" x 5 1/4") then the Baked Brown Sugar "honeycomb" piece.  We adhered the Coral and Cantaloupe hexagon pieces onto the Brown Sugar piece in a somewhat random pattern.  Then we added some punched flowers, pearls, a stamped piece, and the card was complete.

My club members kept all the scraps left over from making this card - and will use those pieces to complete their homework assignment.  I can't wait to see what they come up with!

PLEASE VISIT THIS BLOG POST  to see their August homework projects. The voting was close, but the project with the most vote was Kelly's card.  She will get a prize of coordinating card stock, designer series paper, and ribbon.

If you would like to join the fun and stamp with me, visit my STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE and RSVP to a club meeting.  You are under no obligation to make a monthly commitment to attend or purchase products.  You can place a minimum $15 order or pay a $7 materials fee.

The Day After

World Card Making Day was yesterday and I was supposed to help my down line, Ellen, at a craft show.  But she got sick and could not make it.  And since the weather in the morning was "iffy", I decided not to go by myself.  (It was outside!)  These are the cards I made from a past Paper Pumpkin kit that I was going to display at the craft show. The kit comes with more than enough supplies to make 6 cards and 6 gift boxes.  The directions show you how to make the card above, right.  I used ideas I saw on Pinterest to make the other five.  Everything I needed to make these cards was included in the kit - except for adhesive.  And I have LOTS of supplies left over.

If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber - you know what a great value these kits are. And ONLY YOU are able to order refills for this kit (and selected others.)

Paper Pumpkin is a subscription craft kit that is delivered right to your mailbox every month.  Everything is included in the kit - except adhesive.  Sign up by the 10th in order to get this month's kit.  You never know what is going to be in the kit - so it is like a little bit of Christmas each and every month!  Click on the Paper Pumpkin link at the top or bottom of this blog page for more info and to JOIN NOW!

September's 3D Project

We usually make two cards and one 3D item at my monthly stamp club meetings.  The 3D items are usually my favorite - and this little box is quick and easy to make.  It is the perfect size for about 4 cards and envelopes.  You could also cut up copy paper and make a place to keep paper for notes.

I found the tutorial for this project online, but the measurements were off a bit.  If you would like the directions, please CONTACT ME and I will send you the corrected directions.

September Club Card #1

This is one of the cards we made at my September stamp club meetings.  It is a pinwheel card.  I saw the idea on YOU TUBE.  The card is really easy to make.  I used some retired Designer Series Paper to make this sample.  Below are some of the cards my club members made, using current Stampin' Up! DSP.  (Most from the current holiday catalog.)  Club members - sorry if your card is not here!  I forgot to take photos at some of the club sessions.

If you would like to join the fun and make cute cards like this - please VISIT MY STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE for more information about my stamp clubs and to RSVP for an October meeting.
